Out With the Old -- In With the New:
AU's Agenda for Public Education
(CHART #6)
1. Replace dependency on God with dependency on government.
The faulty idea that government is to be the great solver of all our
problems and provider of all our needs has severely infected the United
States. In our "secular" public schools where the acknowledgment of God
is forbidden, concepts such as "our rights come from God" and
"governments are instituted among men for the securing of those rights"
have long been replaced with the praise and worship of the Constitution
as the source of all good things.
One of the results of "replacing God with government" has been a
continual expansion of the size, scope and cost of government. Beyond
stealing the wealth and prosperity of the American people, the cost of
ever-expanding government has significantly reduced the amount of usable
income available to the average American family. This has created a
vicious cycle. As the American people have less with which to do for
themselves, they have often turned to government and demanded various
forms of "aid," "assistance" and "entitlements." When government
responds to such demands, the end result is a further increase in the
cost of government and decrease in the usable income of the family. Not
only has this worked to increase dependency upon government, but to also
further entrench the government's monopoly in education by virtue of
parents" financial inability to afford an educational alternative to
public education.
2. Replace Truth with relativism.
This is about elevating human reasoning over God's Word as the
"authoritative source" for determining good and evil. Ultimately, when
truth is replaced with relativism, moral absolutes and biblical
standards for discerning and recognizing sin are eliminated.
3. Replace repentance with tolerance.
"Tolerance" is the "gospel" (good news) of the Left. The "good news"
is that under the doctrine of tolerance, repentance is not required. For
the religious and political Left, "tolerance" is the highest of human
qualities. _Yet, their tolerance of evil and wickedness is surpassed
only by their intolerance of those who proclaim Truth and call for
repentance_.
Where there is no authoritative source for determining good from evil
nor standard for righteous living, the ability to identify and create a
social consensus in regard to sin fades against the backdrop of
tolerance. Where sin cannot be identified, the call for repentance is
muffled at best. Only where sin is identified, exposed and acknowledged
can repentance follow. And, only where there is repentance of sin can
there be healing and true freedom.
4. Replace "creedal religion" with "warmhearted service religion."
(See Paul Blanshard's quotes in _Silencing the Church by Dilution_,
Chart #5)
The "creedal religion" that AU despises so much is Bible-believing,
conservative Christianity. The "warmhearted service religion" that AU
supports is liberal religion, where biblical authority is subordinate to
the fundamental doctrines of the religious Left -- freedom of
conscience, freedom of expression and tolerance.
AU and the Religious Left have been about the business of creating a
religious atmosphere in America where the "wolves" can comfortably
mingle with the sheep, espousing their theological heresy with impunity.
This process -- the promotion of tolerance of theological diversity over
Truth as revealed by God in Scripture -- has been a major force in
diluting and silencing of the church. We have named this process --
"Theological Wolfery."
